SAP Concur and Mastercard Announce Partnership to Simplify Expense Reports

Mastercard and SAP Concur have launched a new partnership to simplify the process of expenses – making life easier for businesses and employees alike.

Launched at SAP Concur’s Fusion event in Las Vegas, the new integration will see purchases made on Mastercard corporate cards captured and automatically populated in Concur Expense, and users are immediately alerted if additional information is needed.

With real-time spend data, SAP Concur customers can achieve compliance while users can enjoy an improved experience with automated expense creation. Also, customers can continue banking with preferred partners and utilising existing card programs.

The expense reconciliation process can be lengthy, especially when organisations rely on manual processes. Nearly all travel decision-makers say that rising complexity in the travel and expense (T&E) landscape requires new processes and mindsets, according to a Mastercard survey. This is creating a shift in how businesses approach T&E, with 90% of surveyed travel decision makers predicting that the future of T&E is the convergence of payment and expense management.  SAP Concur helps businesses reimagine their expense management process and use technology to make their employees’ lives easier.

“Our work with Mastercard is a significant milestone in our journey to deliver the expense report that practically manages itself,” said Chris Juneau, head of market strategy at SAP Concur. “As the industry leader in travel and expense management, we are reimagining the expense experience for our SMB and enterprise customers globally.”

The integration will be available to select customers globally starting in the second quarter 2024. As part of the new partnership, we’re also working with Mastercard to provide travel and finance managers with the power to set spending controls and restrictions to help encourage expense policy compliance.

“Combining Mastercard’s digital payments expertise with SAP Concur’s integrated expense management solution will create a simpler and more efficient experience for businesses and employees around the world,” added Rebecca Meeker, Senior Vice President, Global Partnerships and Segments, Mastercard . “This is another step in our partnership with SAP Concur to collaborate on fast, secure and transparent payments, expenses and invoicing solutions.”
