Today, Viva Wallet, the European digital-first payments provider, is announcing its customers can now enjoy the benefits of Google Pay, the most popular mobile payment method for Android users.
Google Pay is a faster, more secure way to pay on websites, in apps, and in stores, that uses the payment methods saved to the user’s Google Account. It protects their payment information with multiple layers of security and makes it easy to store loyalty cards, gift cards, offers, and more.
Easy to Set Up, Easy to Use
An Android user simply needs to download the Google Pay app onto their smartphone and add their Viva Wallet Mastercard card to Google Pay. Once they have added their card, they can start using their phone to tap and pay wherever contactless transactions are accepted, such as in a store or for public transport, without needing to take out their wallet or use a pin pad.
Additionally, when the user would like to spend more than the predefined contactless transaction limit, they can do so easily by unlocking their phone before making the payment.
Neither Google Pay or the Viva Wallet app needs to be open for the user to make a payment. You don’t even need an Internet connection.
Data Security as Usual
Linking a Viva Wallet Mastercard card with Google Pay brings convenience to your payments, but most importantly, it brings an extra layer of security. Through Mastercard’s “Tokenization” technology, the platform protects cardholders’ information by replacing account numbers with a unique alternate card number, or “token.”
Google Pay is available for Viva Wallet customers in the UK, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Czech Rep. and Denmark.
