Rebalance Earth, the UK-based natural capital asset manager, has made a strategic investment in Wilderway, a new venture originating from Rewilding Europe with a proven track record of delivering large scale nature restoration across 11 countries.
The partnership strengthens Rebalance Earth’s network of high-quality delivery partners and accelerates the firm’s ability to restore nature at scale across the British Isles.
Wilderway was created by Rewilding Europe, one of the most experienced restoration organisations globally. Their operational history gives Rebalance Earth direct access to a partner capable of designing and delivering complex ecological projects with institutional rigour, measurable outcomes and long-term stewardship.
A core part of Wilderway’s model is to generate long term income for landowners through market led nature restoration. This aligns directly with Rebalance Earth’s mission to transform natural assets into investable infrastructure that delivers financial, environmental and social returns. By integrating high integrity carbon and nature credits with payments for ecosystem services, the partnership strengthens the economic foundations of rural communities while expanding Rebalance Earth’s project pipeline for investors.
As part of the investment round, Wilderway also welcomes Triodos Regenerative Money Centre, acting through the Triodos Sustainable Finance Foundation. The Centre applies an impact-first financing approach, backing opportunities with the potential to deliver positive systemic change. Its commitment to high integrity, nature-based credits and its goal to mobilise €500 million for Nature-based Solutions by 2030 reinforces Wilderway’s position as a leading developer of restoration projects across Europe.
Rob Gardner, CEO and Co-Founder of Rebalance Earth, said: “This partnership is about scale and quality. Wilderway brings more than a decade of European delivery experience and a clear commitment to building restoration projects that stand up to institutional scrutiny. Their model aligns with our belief that nature is infrastructure, and that landowners should be able to generate long term income from restoring the ecosystems our economy depends on.”
The investment marks a further step in Rebalance Earth’s strategy to build a network of specialist delivery partners capable of executing high integrity projects across diverse landscapes and watersheds. Wilderway is the firm’s third investment, following its marine restoration partnership with Oyster Heaven and its investment in Restore, which focuses on large scale terrestrial ecosystem recovery across the British Isles. Together, these partnerships strengthen Rebalance Earth’s ability to deliver nature-based infrastructure that provides measurable resilience benefits for communities and investors.
